"There's a wild, wild whisper blowing in the wind"

A while ago I saw Rose at From Sneakers to Stilettos wearing a men's necktie in a similar outfit. I liked the concept of using a necktie like a scarf and I wanted to give it a try one day at work. I was feeling adventurous when I picked out my clothes yesterday and so I went for it.

I got several nice compliments on this outfit, but one of the attorneys at work gave me an odd look when he saw me. I think he might have been thrown by the unfinished look of an undone necktie and by the surprise of seeing a woman wearing one. I have never given much thought to menswear and how I might incorporate menswear inspired elements into my style, but it might be worthwhile to do so. In spite of that one weird look I really loved the way this outfit came together. The blue blouse really popped against my yellow cardigan and the tie added pattern and functioned as an unexpected element in the outfit.

Cardigan: Land's End
Blouse: New York & Co
Tie: Was my Grandfather's
